Course description

The OCDC online course for Senior Athletes offers a comprehensive learning experience tailored to athletes who are approaching or actively planning their transition from elite sport to future careers. It focuses on equipping learners with the skills and knowledge required to successfully manage both their current sporting commitments and their long-term professional development. Throughout the course, participants will:
  • Learn how to effectively manage schedules between sport, education, and work
  • Explore eLearning opportunities and international education pathways
  • Develop strategies for a smooth career transition after sport
  • Build and manage a strong personal brand
  • Improve communication with sponsors, media, and stakeholders
  • Identify and access dual career support programmes and networks
The course combines practical advice with real-world insights, helping athletes make informed decisions about their future while maintaining high performance in sport. By the end of the course, learners will be better prepared to navigate the transition into the labour market and build a sustainable professional career beyond athletics.
