The Sport Go Green – Basic course is an introductory training programme designed to raise awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability in sport. It provides fundamental knowledge on how sport organisations and stakeholders can reduce their environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable and responsible sport sector.

Course description

The Sport Go Green – Basic online course offers a clear and accessible introduction to the relationship between sport and environmental sustainability, making it suitable for a wide audience, including sports professionals, organisations, and the general public. Participants will explore:
  • Key concepts of environmental sustainability and sustainable development
  • The environmental impact of sports activities and events
  • The role of sport as a driver of positive environmental change
  • Practical actions sports organisations can take to reduce their footprint
As part of a two-level learning pathway, this introductory course lays the foundation for more advanced knowledge and supports learners in understanding how to integrate sustainability into everyday sport practices. By the end of the course, participants will have a solid understanding of how sport can contribute to a greener future and how they can take initial steps towards more sustainable operations.
