She holds a PhD in Physical Activity and Sport from the University of Lleida (INEFC Lleida), a Master’s degree in Sport Management, and an undergraduate background in Pedagogy in Physical Education, Sport and Recreation from Universidad Mayor (Chile). Her doctoral research focused on the sustainability of sport events in protected and non-protected natural areas. Prior to her doctoral studies in Spain, she worked in Chile in the field of public sport management at the National Institute of Sport and in the organisation and production of national and international sport events. She is currently a university lecturer in Sport Management programmes at Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio and at Euncet Business School.
