About Me

Antoine coordinates the research strand on advancing public interests in international and European law at the T.M.C. Asser Instituut. He is a Senior Researcher since February 2014 and defended his PhD at the  European University Institute in Florence in September 2015. His thesis dealt with the legal interaction between the Lex Sportiva (the private regulations governing international sports) and EU Law. His research focuses on the role of private actors in transnational law, using the lex sportiva as his main case study. In recent years, Antoine researched and published extensively on the relationship between human rights and lex sportiva and has multiple years of experience being involved in Erasmus+ projects. He holds both a Master in Law and Political Science from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, a Master in Law from the University of Cologne and a Master in Law from the EUI.

This online course is designed to help the various actors within sport organisations and athletes themselves to better understand their rights, how to respect them, and how to claim them. It was developed based on extensive research on athletes’ human rights, mapping the various relevant human rights, how they apply to athletes and what the challenges are in the sporting context. It is part of the Erasmus+ project co-funded by the European Union titled ‘Human Rights Empowered Through Athletes Rights’ (H.E.R.O.).
