What You Will Learn
- Positive Effects of Outdoor Activity: Learn how spending time outdoors can improve your physical fitness, boost your mental health, and reduce the risk of diseases like cancer and diabetes.
- Nature Conservation and Protection: Understand the importance of protecting natural resources, including plants, animals, and habitats. The course covers key principles for minimising your impact on the environment, such as the “Leave No Trace” guidelines.
- Sustainable Development: Discover what sustainable development means and how small, everyday actions like recycling and choosing public transport can contribute to a healthier planet for future generations.
- Environmental Impact of Outdoor Sports: Be aware of the potential negative effects of outdoor activities, such as coastal erosion and water pollution from water sports. The course also highlights the harm caused by littering to wildlife and ecosystems.
- Responsible Behaviour: Learn to plan activities carefully by checking weather forecasts and route conditions. You will also learn about respectful behaviour in protected areas, like sticking to designated paths and avoiding noise, to ensure a positive experience for everyone and to protect wildlife.
