About Me

Daniela is a researcher at the T.M.C. Asser Instituut and consultant in the field of sport and human rights, with more than 7 years experience working in the field. With a background in public international law and human rights law, she conducted PhD research on the topic of human rights abuses in the context of mega-sporting events and how to establish legal responsibility in these cases, and has expanded her research and expertise to human rights issues in day-to-day sports since then. She has worked together with a number of sport organisations on questions around human rights of athletes among other topics, and continues to work with the Centre for Sport and Human Rights on a regular basis. In addition to research in the field, she also designs and organizes online and offline educational activities on sport and human rights for different stakeholders in the sport ecosystem, and continues to build a global academic network on the topic.
