Estela FARIAS TORBIDONI, PhD

Lecturer at the INEFC of Lleida at undergraduate and master’s level since 2015. I have also taught in other masters and specific training in other degrees such as Environmental Sciences or Forestry, University of Lleida. I am the principal investigator of the GISEAFE subgroup at the Institute for Social and Territorial Development (INDEST), University of Lleida. My specialities are sports management, management of sporting events in the natural environment and management of public use in protected natural areas. This last speciality is the one that has led me to coordinate, over the last 15 years, more than twenty applied research projects in the Natural Parks of Catalonia, focused on the study of affluence and frequentation and tourist carrying capacity, among others. The Natural Parks of Alt Pirineu, Cadí-Moixeró, Serra de Collserola, Serra de Montsant, the headwaters of the Ter and Freser rivers, Sant Llorenç de Munt and Obac, the Poblet Site of National Interest, have been places of learning and practice in this world of public use in this type of spaces that has made me grow as a person and a professional.
