The
GETS online course offers a structured introduction to the key principles of
environmental sustainability in sport, combining theoretical knowledge with practical guidance tailored to real-world sports settings.
Participants will explore:
- Core concepts and basic principles of sustainability in sport
- Planning and delivering eco-friendly sports events, including logistics and operations
- Effective communication strategies to promote sustainability and engage fans
- The importance of partnerships and networks in achieving sustainability goals
- Real-world best practices and case studies from the sports sector
The course is organised into five key learning areas, guiding participants from foundational concepts to practical implementation. It emphasises how sports organisations can not only reduce their environmental impact but also act as
agents of change, influencing communities and stakeholders to adopt greener behaviours.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to design and implement
sustainable initiatives, improve environmental performance, and communicate sustainability effectively within their organisations and beyond.
